But sometimes these goals lead us to putting too much pressure on ourselves and we lose sight of the real reason we seek our purpose, to feel happy and fulfilled.Contrary to what popular media suggests, finding your purpose is not a matter of searching for something external. Instead, it is about recognizing and connecting with your inherent passions, desires, and talents. These intrinsic qualities link us to our purpose.Rather than actively seeking to "find" our purpose, we should focus on learning how to "feel" it. We can sense our purpose deep within the body and soul. When you are aligned with your purpose, you feel overflowing energy, happiness, and fulfilment. It becomes like a calling, something that deeply resonates with your unique passions and talents, effortlessly guiding you towards joy and fulfilment.Alignment with your purpose creates a state of flow that feels stress-free and effortless. When in the flow, time seems to melt away as you become fully present in the moment. You’re buzzing with energy, as if connected to something greater than yourself. This experience is truly wonderful and brings a sense of inner harmony. As an example, let's say your purpose involves caring for children. When you engage with children, it will naturally bring about deep feelings of love, inner peace and fulfilment. You’ll feel real solace in knowing that you’re positively impacting their lives.Your purpose is intricately woven into the fabric of your being. It's an authentic expression of your unique gifts, passions, and values. By tuning into your innermost self and listening intuitively, you will naturally be guided towards genuine happiness and fulfilment. My number one tip to learn how to feel your purpose is to do more of what you genuinely love. Notice the things that consistently bring you joy and vitality, and do more of them.If something drains your energy, it's probably not in alignment with your purpose. Pay attention to sensations such as what we might call our ‘gut feeling’. Listen to your body, allow your purpose to speak to you and follow its guidance.Topic 2 Key Area of ImprovementLimiting BeliefsWe’re all guilty of being our own worst critic at times. But if that little voice telling you’re not good enough gets too loud, it can seriously impact our self esteem and stop us from growing personally and professionally.Limiting beliefs are the negative thoughts and perceptions we hold of ourselves. They shape our views of who we are and what we can or can’t achieve. These internal narratives of self-doubt become ingrained in our minds, holding us back from reaching our full potential.Have you ever said the following phrases to yourself?I'm not good enoughI'm worthlessI'll never succeedI'll always be aloneThese self-criticisms stem from past experiences such as:Childhood, i.e. the people who brought you up or the circumstances of your upbringingParental influenceSocial circlesSocietal pressuresThey also arise from our own negative self-talk. Over time, these beliefs solidify and convince us that our current reality is all we can ever achieve, that we aren’t capable of the things we dream of and desire.Try to notice the words you say to yourself, your internal narrative. Awareness is the first step. Once we become aware of these limiting beliefs, we can trace their origins and recognise them as outdated and unhelpful stories that hold us back.By recognising all that we have achieved and embracing more positive narratives, we equip ourselves with the necessary tools to step into the future we truly desire and deserve. Topic 3 Key Area of ImprovementMindsetNobody wants to be a glass half empty person but it can be hard not to slip into a negative way of thinking. Focusing on things we can’t do, worrying about what can go wrong and letting imposter syndrome get the better of us are things we’re all guilty of.A mindset refers to your mental attitude and perspective towards yourself, others, and the world. It significantly influences your thoughts, behaviours, decisions and actions, shaping not only how you perceive the world around you, but also how you experience life.Mindsets can be categorised as:Fixed (negative)Growth-oriented (positive)A person with a fixed mindset sees things as unchangeable, they may say "I'm just the way I am" or "I'm not good at certain things." This mindset often results in negative thinking. On the other hand, a person with a growth mindset views their abilities and characteristics as opportunities for growth and improvement, they would say "I'm not good at that yet" or "I didn’t get the job this time but I learned a lot from the experience". This reflects a positive and optimistic outlook, an expectation of success, and a belief that great achievements are possible through consistent effort and genuine dedication.Your mindset acts as a filter, shaping how you perceive yourself, others, and the world around you. Just as wearing glasses with different coloured lenses alters your view of the world, the mindset through which you approach life influences your perspective.Fortunately, there are simple steps you can take to shift towards a more positive mindset. Here’s one of them:Stop starting your day by watching on the news, or looking at it on your phone. News headlines can be overwhelmingly negative and increase stress and anxiety.Start greeting the new day in a positive way by practising gratitude. Say the following out loud, or in your head if that feels more comfortable: "Welcome brand new day! Thank you for another opportunity to be alive. I'm excited to see what this day brings."Give it a try and see how different it feels.Practicing this method every day will help you to be kinder to yourself, have a huge impact and help you really start living.Topic 4 Key Area of ImprovementSelf AwarenessOften we know we’re struggling but we just can’t put our fingers on why. It can feel like we’re not enjoying the things that should be enjoyable, like our children, our success or our relationships. Self-awareness means understanding yourself and being aware of your:ThoughtsEmotionsActionsReactionsIt’s about understanding your strengths and weaknesses and how you relate to others. When you truly know yourself, what gives you energy and what drains it, you develop greater self-awareness. This allows you to navigate your emotions more effectively, which helps you understand the patterns and triggers that influence how you feel and react to situations.By recognising your own emotional states, you become better at managing stress, anxiety and other negative emotions. You feel more in control, more steady and calm, and much happier.Greater self-awareness helps you build solid, strong relationships. When you truly understand yourself, it becomes easier to empathise with others and recognise and appreciate their perspectives. This leads to deeper, more genuine connections and more harmony in your life.Ultimately, having greater self-awareness gives you the tools to live an authentic life, aligned with the genuine YOU. It enables you to make choices that truly make YOU happy.Take the time to really get to know yourself better by becoming aware of the thoughts, feelings and actions that arise in certain situations and looking for patterns.Embrace this journey of self-discovery, it’s wonderful getting to know yourself! Watch how increased self-awareness not only helps you feel more in control of yourself but also brings greater happiness into your life. Topic 5 Key Area of ImprovementHabitsWe all live increasingly busy lives and have a lot on our plates. Often it can be hard just to get through the day, let alone to take time for yourself to rest or do something that boosts your energy.Habits are the things we do every day that shape who we are. They include our thoughts, actions and beliefs.Your current life situation is a reflection of your habits. Your level of physical fitness, your overall happiness, and your level of success are all influenced by the habits you have formed. When you develop habits that mean you put everyone else first and de-prioritise yourself, you’re doing so at the cost of your own mental health and longevity. The exciting news is that all habits, whether good or bad, helpful or unhelpful, are created in the same way. This means, if we can create bad habits, we are capable of breaking those patterns and creating good habits instead. All habit formation follows the same process:CueCravingResponseRewardI specialise in helping my clients gain a deep understanding of this process and harness that learning to use habit formation to their advantage. This allows them to create the wonderful habits they need to build the life they dream of, and you can too.Breaking free from negative, unhelpful habits and getting yourself some shiny new ones that are more aligned with the person you aspire to be, is easier than you might think. But, it takes commitment, action, and dedication. If you’re willing, it’s very much in your reach. If you decide to work with me, I will guide you through simple, easy to understand and apply actionable steps to achieve this.Over time, the small positive habits you develop become deeply ingrained and automated. They will profoundly impact how you perceive yourself and the person you become. It’s powerful stuff.Remember the words of James Clear, author of Atomic Habits: "With the same habits, you will yield the same results, but with better habits, anything is possible."By consciously shaping your habits, you can access a world of possibilities and create the life you truly desire. Topic 6 Key Area of ImprovementPlanSometimes we know certain things aren’t working for us but find it hard to become motivated to do anything about it. It can be difficult to hit pause and take the time to look at what our goals are in life. But, if we don't we may find ourselves spiralling out of control and not living the life we truly deserve. To have a ‘plan’ is to have a goal in mind for the general direction you want your life to take, one that will bring you happiness and fulfilment.A plan gives you focus and stability despite the inevitable uncertainties life brings. A plan keeps you grounded and guides you towards the outcomes you want from your life.A plan is not a rigid pathway, rather, a flexible guide. Think of a plan like your anchor. It keeps you rooted, but allows you to sway and adapt to the ebbs and flows of life. Just like a ship that bobs and rocks with the waves.A plan, our anchor, allows us to embrace any opportunities that come our way, to test and try out new things, all while remaining true to our purpose and goals.A plan provides a direction that will keep you focussed on what you want to achieve, rather than feeling lost. It helps you stay on track and allows you to make choices that align with your dreams, desires and aspirations, bringing about a deep sense of fulfilment along the way.Your plan encourages you to keep growing as a person. It will keep you inspired to continue to set meaningful goals and get closer to the future you want. When you have a plan that is aligned with your goals, you’re more likely to achieve them and feel fulfilled and happy. Best of all, as it’s your own plan, you’ll thoroughly enjoy the journey!Take a moment for yourself now to try this exercise:Think of something you’d love to do, try, or achieve, it can be something smallIdentify the steps you need to take to move further towards accomplishing your goal and make a small plan to do soYou have your first planI can absolutely help you with this, but try a small one for yourself today. When you identify a goal and take small steps towards it, seeing and feeling what brings you joy along the way, you can start building momentum and set you on the right path for you.Call to ActionAre you ready to start living a life you really love, free from anxiety, with more energy and more time for you?Click here to book a free 15 minute discovery call to discuss how I could help you further.
